I’m on a mission to find out what makes up an effective finance function. Aged 53 with 19 years’ experience of being an FD behind me, I think that I’ve already got a good idea but I’m not sure. The world of finance is changing and I want to find out what other people think. By pooling our knowledge I believe that we can find some insights that will be useful to us all. That’s why I am setting up Engaging With Finance, a research initiative to work with CFO’s and FD’s to find out what they think makes up a best of breed 21st Century finance function.
Are you interested in joining the conversation? If so, please let me know. I’ll then contact you to set up a research interview. It will take about 2 hours of your time. In return, you will get free access to the research results. I hope that these should give you some good clear ideas of how to take your finance function forward.
This is not a sales pitch. It is genuine research. As a first step I am looking for CFO’s, FD’s and part-time FD’s working in one or more of the following categories:
- growing or scale-up businesses turning over between £1m and £250m
- not for profit organisations turning over between £10m and £250m
- businesses with external investors (Private equity, venture capital, angels or bank finance) turning over between £5m and £250m.
Please get in touch if you would like to take part.
